The work I did on the Spider up to this point had been pencil on mylar digitally colored. I wanted to work in oils, and this was a study based on one of the pages I did for The Spider: Judgement Knight book by Moonstone.

I started with a sepia underpainting and glazed color, but I also used opaque paint to rework areas. Due to that, this painting may crack in the future.
